Head of Trade Services , UK - Ghana chamber of Commerce
I am currently the Head of Trade Services at the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, where I am responsible for Research and Advocacy, Capacity Building as well as delivery of Trade services to businesses in Ghana and in the UK. In this role, i lead on UKGCC’s key sector committee meetings, tax and other regulatory dialogues, and trade & policy roundtables. I research and author position papers that drive policy reforms and improve the business environment for Ghana. Over the past five years I have led on the delivery of UKGCC’s Business Environment and Competitiveness Survey, through which I engage government stakeholders and key private sector players on creating an enabling business environment in Ghana. I project manage the delivery of several of UK’s FCDO and DBT funded programmes. I manage a team of consultants delivering technical assistance to the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ministry of Finance. I lead my team to identify market opportunities and challenges for UK companies entering the Ghanaian market and vice versa. I also lead on delivery of training programmes to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), build their skills and capacity for international trade. Prior to my current role I acquired fifteen years of experience in the banking sector, with specialisation in Finance, Trade and Foreign Operations, and bank branch management.
