“Dr. Ogho Okiti is an accomplished strategic communications adviser, macroeconomist, and business leader with over two decades of experience at the intersection of economic policy, media, and corporate strategy. He currently serves as Special Adviser on Communications, Media, and Publicity to Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, where he shapes public narratives on Nigeria’s economic reforms and drives strategic messaging to build trust and confidence among citizens, investors, and development partners.
Ogho is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ThinkBusiness Africa Ltd., a data-driven advisory and media company dedicated to enabling Africa’s prosperity. Through its flagship platform, the Africa Business Convention (ABC), he convenes thought leaders, business executives, and policymakers to address Africa’s most pressing economic challenges and unlock opportunities for trade, investment, and innovation across the continent.
Previously, Ogho served as Managing Director of BusinessDay Media Ltd., Nigeria’s leading financial and business publication, where he led a successful transformation from a traditional print advertising model to a subscription-driven digital media business. Under his leadership, subscription revenue grew by nearly 1,000% in three years, while conference revenues exceeded ₦400 million in 2022, establishing BusinessDay as a premium source of economic intelligence and thought leadership.
Earlier in his career, he founded Time Economics Ltd., an independent economics and communications consulting firm, where he advised leading institutions including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Korean Development Institute (KDI), UK DFID, and DAI’s Market Development in the Niger Delta (MADE) program. His work has shaped economic strategies, investment outlooks, and policy frameworks for governments, private-sector actors, and development partners.
Between 2012 and 2015, Ogho served in the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President of Nigeria, supporting high-level policy formulation on macroeconomic stability, job creation, and international economic cooperation. He also led communications for Nigeria’s hosting of the 24th World Economic Forum on Africa in 2014.
A respected economic thinker and prolific writer, Ogho has authored numerous policy papers, thought pieces, and widely read columns on Nigeria’s fiscal reforms, competitiveness, and macroeconomic dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics from the University of Manchester, where his research focused on oil price shocks and macroeconomic stability in developing economies.”
