Francisco Marques 2025 Speaker

Francisco has more than thirteen years of work experience in Corporate Finance dealing with Commodity and Structured Finance in banks and development finance institutions. He is a Senior Global Technical Specialist – Private Sector Investments working for IFAD. He is supporting the establishment of IFAD’s private sector operations division. Previously he worked for the African Development Bank (AfDB) for five years leaving as Senior Investment Officer within the Financial Intermediation and Inclusion Division. In his role he led AfDB investments to offer financial solutions and technical assistance to African financial institutions and equity investments in Venture Capital and Impact Investing Funds. He led the approval of more than USD 150 million in different projects in Angola, Mozambique, and Sub-Saharan Africa region. Prior to AfDB, Francisco worked at Natixis in France and in Brazil and at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ in Brazil in various capacities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management from the University of Bradford and a master’s degree in International Economics and Development from Paris-Dauphine University.
