His father founded the MeTL Group which Mohammed Dewji became the Chief Financial Officer for. MeTL Group is a Tanzanian conglomerate with investments in real estate, agriculture, finance, insurance, manufacturing, food and beverages, transport and logistics, and mobile telephony. During his time as CFO of MeTL Group Mohammed Dewji was responsible for increasing the company’s profits from $30 million to $1.5 billion. He had a career in politics serving as a Member of Parliament for his hometown Singida for 10 years.
