Biography

Scott Onder is the Chief Investment Officer of Mercy Corps where he leads the agency’s global strategy for impact investing, innovative finance, Web3 initiatives, and strategic partnerships with technology ventures. Scott is also the Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of Mercy Corps Ventures, the impact venture capital arm of Mercy Corps, which invests in high-impact startups developing climate adaptation and resilience solutions in frontier markets. Through Mercy Corps Ventures (MCV), Scott has invested in 45 seed and early-stage ventures in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. In addition to capital, MCV provides strategic support, pilots, and partnership opportunities to help ventures scale. Scott is an early investor in Wasoko, Pula, Goldfinch, and Floodbase, and is on the boards of portfolio companies that drive climate adaptation and resilience. He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and is based in the Pacific Northwest.
