Biography

Ravin leads Barclays Mauritius and sits on the Barclays Africa Executive Committee Board. He was appointed Managing Director of Barclays Mauritius in July 2007 after six months as Corporate Director within the organisation.

Prior to joining Barclays, Ravin was since 2002, the General Manager of two of the key parastatal bodies in Mauritius, namely, the Central Electricity Board and the State Trading Corporation.

Ravin’s rich banking experience started in 1987 as Credit Officer at the State Bank of Mauritius. He subsequently left for Mumbai to head the Corporate Banking Division of Indian Operations. He later moved to the South East Asian Bank (Mauritius) Ltd as Assistant General Manager.

He is the Chairman of the Mauritius Bankers’ Association (MBA) since February 2017.

Ravin is a Chartered Banker and holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Leicester University.
