Biography

Michelle Haigh Osorio is Investment Director at KawiSafi Ventures (kawisafi.com), a Nairobi-based impact venture fund backing high potential companies building distributed renewable energy and climate solutions in Africa. At KawiSafi, Michelle evaluates new investment opportunities and supports portfolio companies, including serving on the board of OPES Solutions and observer for SHYFT Power Solutions. In emerging markets private equity since 2007, Michelle backed over 100 MW of renewable power projects in Latin America while at Conduit Capital Partners and the Carlyle Group. She previously worked in the Public Sector & Infrastructure Banking group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and at SJF Ventures, a leading impact VC fund now investing their 5th fund. Michelle holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
