Biography

Michael Rieser is a Director, Investments at the UBS Optimus Foundation where he manages direct investments, impact-linked financing transactions, and the development of investment funds at UBS Optimus Foundation. He has been leading on several direct investments into African companies operating in the health sector and is passionate about unlocking capital for impactful African companies at scale in partnership with UBS. Before joining UBS Optimus Foundation, Michael developed social agribusinesses in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean, and held positions in academia and at advisories focusing on policy making.
