Biography

David Akinin is the Managing Director of Emanya Capital Group (Pty) Ltd., a Namibian Private Equity firm that invests foreign and local capital into infrastructure, energy and real estate deals in Southern Africa. He is also the Founder and Director of Atenu Developments, through which they develop affordable housing, as well as schools and clinics.

David is a business leader in the Namibian community living all over the country, and has spoken alongside the President and Minister of Urban and Rural Development in NYC and at home, in the inaugural Invest in Namibia Conference. Previously, he worked as an Investment Banker in NYC and Chile at Credit Suisse in Global Energy and Emerging Markets, and at Google in Business Development.

He is originally from Venezuela, speaks 6 languages, and graduated in Economics from the University of Chicago, with courses at Paris VII and Harvard. He is currently working on an MPhil in Inclusive Innovation from the University of Cape Town.
