Biography

Brett was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Sanlam Africa Investments at the end of 2014. He is admitted as an attorney in South Africa and, after he obtained his LL.M at Leiden University (cum laude), he joined Sanlam Investments as a Legal Advisor in 2004. Upon completing his CFA exams, Mr. Mallen transferred to the Sanlam Private Equity investment team in September 2009. Whilst at SPE, he identified the attractive opportunity for investment into Africa and was integral in formulating an African investment strategy and structure, initially for private equity and then for multiple asset classes.
