Biography

Ben Botes – CEO SeedsLife Investment Group – Highly experienced entrepreneur, angel investor and VC with a passion for emerging markets and societal impact.

With more than 25 years of international experience in multi-national settings where he held several executive positions in General Management at global and European levels in the UK, South Africa Ghana, Kenya and Ivory Coast. With a special interest in renewable energy and impact investment, Ben Co-founded the Caban Capital Ltd in 2012 the UK which which today has stakes in more than 50 investee companies in Southern Africa and the UK. In 2017 Ben Co-founded SeedsLife Investment Group LLP, which has key interests in a number of growing firms across the African continent ranging from property to agriculture and mining. Albert is a member of the Investment Committee of the MC funds and a Board member of several portfolio companies of the three funds. Ben i join fund manager with SeedsLife Caban Impact Investment Fund which focusses on impact investment across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Ben is a PhD candidate in the area of Entrepreneurship and Impact Investment, Holds a Masters degree from Trinity College an an MBA from the University of Surrey’s European Business School.
