Biography

Aminata started her career in financial advisory at EY before transitioning into investments in Emerging Markets, especially Africa. Since then, she has worked in different types of organisations (development finance institution, investment banking, venture philanthropy) and was involved in both debt and equity transactions across financial services, energy & manufacturing sectors. In her current role, as a Senior Investment Officer at responsAbility, she leads debt investments in Sub-Saharan Africa with a focus on Financial Inclusion with a particular focus in Gender & Climate Finance. This entails investing in a wide range of institutions from traditional banks, microfinance, alternative lenders & fintech.

As part of her work on Gender Lens investing, she is leading deployment of the Global Gender Smart Fund in SSA for responsAbility.
Aminata is passionate about supporting smes & [female] entrepreneurs on the African continent.
