“Dr. Nqobizitha Mathanda Dube is the Sustainability Officer at the Horticulture Development Council (HDC) of Zimbabwe, where he leads work on sustainable horticulture, climate finance, and green growth. He has played a central role in developing the HDC Sustainability Tracker and the emerging Flame Lily Standard, which align Zimbabwe’s horticulture sector with global benchmarks while responding to local realities.

With a PhD in Economics and extensive experience in climate finance across Africa, Dr. Dube has supported initiatives with the African Union, the African Development Bank, and the Green Climate Fund. His expertise lies in mobilising finance for climate-resilient agriculture, building inclusive certification systems, and strengthening institutional frameworks that enable smallholder farmers, youth, and women to access competitive markets.

At AFSIC, he represents HDC’s drive to position Zimbabwean horticulture as a sustainable, competitive, and globally recognised sector.”
