Biography

Lavanya Anand is a Senior Investment Manager with the Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund, one of the largest VC funds focused on Africa. She is based in Nairobi, Kenya and has over 6 years of experience investing in African startups, previously a Principal with VestedWorld, an early-stage African VC fund. Before moving to Kenya in 2018, Lavanya was based in the US where she worked as a CPA in public accounting and corporate finance. She has a BA in Business Economics from UCLA and an MBA from Chicago Booth. Her sectors of interest include fintech, retail / e-commerce, and consumer products.
