Biography

Based in Dakar, Senegal, Adrian Mill is Managing Director and founder of ESS, an implementation-focused Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability advisory services firm based in and servicing Africa.

Adrian Mill possesses over 20 years of experience in the ESG and sustainability sector, managing compliance for internationally-significant projects across Africa and the Middle East.

Adrian Mill and the ESS team provide ESG and sustainability support to investors and corporates, focussed on implementation of best practice in Africa and emerging economies. They help investors and corporates to translate words to action, implementing key international standards, frameworks and guidelines (i.e. the IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles and numerous others) in a variety of sectors, including mining, energy and renewables, oil and gas , infrastructure (road, rail, airports, ports etc.), manufacturing, construction, agriculture and tourism.

Adrian Mill has been recognized as a ‘Chartered Environmentalist’ and ‘Chartered Scientist’ by the Institute of Environmental Sciences in the UK. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and conversant in Wolof (Senegal).
