Biography

Steve Hollingworth is President and CEO of Grameen Foundation, a global nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable the poor, especially women, to create a world without poverty and hunger. He has worked in international development for 30 years, with a focus on the delivery of financial services to benefit the world’s poorest people. Previously, Steve served as President of Freedom from Hunger, and as Chief Operating Officer for CARE, where he managed global operations and the organization’s $650 million budget. Steve has an M.S. in Economics, Development Studies, from Victoria University of Manchester in England, and a B.A. in Economics from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where he first joined the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
