Biography

Thomas is the Managing Director of Lango Real Estate Ltd (Lango), where he played the lead role in founding the business as a joint venture with Ninety One and Growthpoint Properties, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Lango is a real estate company focused on generating compelling and sustainable investor returns through the acquisition of prime commercial real estate assets in key gateway cities across the African continent.

Thomas has held overall executive responsibility for the establishment and management of Lango since inception. Lango has demonstrated significant growth under his leadership, having grown to have assets worth in excess of $600m on its balance sheet, spread across four countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and emerging as a leader in the asset class in Africa. Lango aims to list on the London Stock Exchange over the medium term.

Thomas is an accomplished Investment professional with more than 25 years’ experience across a range of asset classes including direct commercial real estate investment in both the listed real estate and private equity markets, commercial real estate finance and the financial markets including fixed income and equity derivatives.

Thomas holds a Master of Science Degree (MSc Global Finance) from the University of London’s CASS Business School (awarded with distinction). He also holds a post graduate Honours degree in Economics and a Batchelor of Commerce degree in Economics from the University of South Africa.
