Biography

Jackson Kimani is the Founding CEO of the Climate Action Platform for Africa (CAP-A), a novel platform of initiatives focusing on climate action opportunities as drivers of economic growth in Africa. It is rooted in a strong conviction that the African continent can play a key role in combating climate change as it is well positioned to competitively deliver many of the things the world needs.

Prior to this, Jack Kimani was the Africa Regional Director with the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) of the Clinton Foundation (Foundation) working across sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia and Australia. In 2008, he set up the CCI programs in East Africa for the Foundation and initiated joint planning with multiple government, private sector and NGO partners in those countries to develop systems for national measurement, reporting, and verification of emissions within a framework of national development priorities.
From 2006 to 2008 Jack Kimani served as a Deputy Director, CFO and Procurement Director for the Clinton-Hunter Development Initiative (CHDI), a $100M Initiative focused on effecting economic development in rural communities. Jack Kimani first joined the Clinton Foundation as a Consultant where he participated in building Africa-relevant fact bases and models for fertilizer production, use and transport. Prior to joining the Foundation, Jack was a corporate finance professional working in the United States managing the financial operations for a business unit of a Forbes 400 leading logistics and transport company.

Jack Kimani is an MBA graduate of the University of Wisconsin (Oshkosh). He also holds an Economics degree from the University of Wisconsin (Green Bay).
