Biography

Valerie Labi is a serial impact entrepreneur dedicated to leveraging social enterprises to tackle the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She is currently at the forefront of creating an ecosystem for e-mobility solutions in Africa, as Co-Founder and CEO of MANA Mobility. A start-up based in Ghana, manufacturing affordable and connected electric vehicles.

Valerie Labi holds a BSc in Economics from Southampton University and a Masters in Sustainability Leadership, from the University of Cambridge. Her career has spanned a variety of industries including global financial services, telecommunications, and water and sanitation. Her experience includes founding start-ups as well as strategic leadership in large multinationals such as Vodafone and EY. During the pandemic, she took up the role of Country Manager for BIMA Ghana, establishing a growth strategy scaling up the countries 1st licensed telemedicine services provider, to the capacity of 30,000 consultations a week.

Valerie Labi excels when driving business transformation, providing leadership, and finding innovative solutions to social issues. Her accomplishments to date at driving social change through business were recently acknowledged when she was recognised as one of the ‘10 under 35 Changemakers in Ghana’. Valerie was honoured by President Obama, being awarded the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and further in 2019 when she was invited to become a member of the 12th class of the Harambean Entrepreneurial Alliance.

Valerie Labi currently serves on the advisory board to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Netherlands, Inclusive Green Growth Department, for their Valuing Water Initiative.
