Biography

Tarek is passionate about entrepreneurship and the creative industries as a means of enabling social and economic development. Tarek is the founder and Group of Affinity, a digital bank built in Ghana for Africa. Prior to Affinity, Tarek was a Director at Man Group (GLG Partners) and began his career as an academic at the University of Cambridge where he obtained his PhD in Physics at the age of 22. Tarek is a Tutu fellow, on the board of 1-54, the largest African contemporary art fair and Greene Light Stage (Old Vic Productions) in London and a Tutor for the MBA program at the Said Business School, University of Oxford. Tarek is the co-founder and former CEO of the Ghana Triathlon Federation, and was the Honorary Consul of Cape Verde in Ghana, nominated by Mo Ibrahim Prize Laureate, HE Pedro Pires.
