Biography

Susie is based in London and oversees the investment process both at the project and portfolio level. As Chief Investment Officer at Empower, she plays a pivotal role in selecting and evaluating projects to be presented to Empower’s investment committee for final investment decisions. She is a seasoned specialist in all aspects of development finance, from debt structures and equity investments to raising capital through bond issuances and investment funds. Susie has worked on complex projects across Eastern Europe, Turkey, the Balkans, Africa, and Asia, with a sector focus on power and energy.

Susie is an English-qualified finance lawyer with two decades of experience gained in private practice at SJ Berwin and Freshfields in London and Vietnam, in-house at Credit Suisse, and most recently as Associate Director and Senior Counsel at the London headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
