Biography

Paul Ohaga is responsible for New Forests’ African expansion, including setting up the office, building a team and leading the strategy and execution of New Forests’ entry into the region via the African Forestry Investment Platform (AFIP).

Paul Ohaga has extensive experience in sub-Saharan Africa in corporate finance, venture capital and private equity including investment fund design and set-up. Prior to joining New Forests, he was the Head and Chief Investment Officer, Kenya Climate Ventures, an early-stage investment program set up by the World Bank. Prior to that, Paul Ohaga was the Director and Head of the Agriculture Fund at a Swiss based USD3bn private equity fund investing in sub-Saharan Africa.Paul Ohaga is a seasoned senior fund professional with an engineering background and an MBA. He has many years of experience in managing funds including fundraising, full transaction and portfolio management and Board representation.
