Biography
“Oguche is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp); the umbrella body for all licensed pension fund operators in Nigeria. In this role he leads the efforts of the 30 billion dollar pension industry in Nigeria in engaging the government, regulators, the media, the financial markets and other stakeholders in ensuring that the interests of the pension operators are promoted and that the pension industry has a positive impact on National Development.
Before this appointment, Oguche was Nigeria’s Regional Director for OurCrowd, a crowd funding, venture capital and impact investment firm with headquarters in Israel.
Prior to this, he worked with Standard Chartered Bank as an Associate Director in their Lagos office, where he was in charge of the credit quality of a portfolio of assets worth USD 7 billion dollars. This included various loan products and derivatives to banks, the government and sovereign owned enterprises (SOEs) in Nigeria. In Standard Chartered, he had short term assignments in South Africa and London, working in the Risk management, Credit and Corporate Finance functions. In his 14-year stint with Standard Chartered Bank he held various roles spanning financial control, operations, Risk management & Credit, origination and client coverage, financial institutions and strategy. Whilst in Standard Chartered Bank, he was the Diversity and Inclusion champion for The Nigeria franchise, helping to implement and embed practices that would encourage a diverse workforce and environment.
He possesses a degree in Banking and finance and is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria,
He was recently nominated to serve as a board member for the Nigerian National Advisory board (NAB) for Impact Investments – the national body designed to strengthen the impact investment ecosystem in Nigeria under the framework of the Global Sustainability Group (GSG) for Impact Investments.”
