Biography

“Njord Andrewes is a Managing Partner of Accion Impact Management. In his previous role as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer with Accion’s Global Investments team, he was responsible for generating deal flow, building relationships with investors, structuring investments and leading negotiations, fundraising for portfolio companies, and developing exit opportunities.

Njord has more than 20 years of investment experience, including the past decade as Investment Director at Nordic Microfinance Initiative (NMI), in Oslo, Norway. During his tenor at NMI, Njord helped co-develop and implement the investment strategies of the NMI Frontier Fund, NMI Global Fund and NMI Fund III which invested in microfinance institutions in Africa, South and Southeast Asia. At NMI, he also held several governance positions, including serving on the boards of several financial institutions as well as on the boards of impact investing funds. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Hope College and an MBA from Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.”
