Biography

Nathan is a Senior Investment Officer for MicroVest, joining the team in 2011. He is responsible for pipeline development, analysis and structuring of investments, product development and market strategy. He has performed over 30 in depth due diligences of low income financial institutions in 15 different countries, resulting in 80 investments worth over $150m. His previous experience includes the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and FINCA International. Prior to this, Mr. Horst spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali where he collaborated with local organizations to design, finance and implement six rural development projects.

Mr. Horst earned an MA in International Finance, Economics and Development in 2010 from Johns Hopkins University SAIS, where he focused on financial sector development in emerging markets. He also holds a BA in English Literature and Composition from Belmont University. Mr. Horst is fluent in English and Bambara, and functional in French.
