Biography

Mike Mompi is Managing Partner of Enza Capital, a venture fund investing in early-stage African technology companies solving large and meaningful problems. He sits on the Boards of multiple African technology companies including SeamlessHR, Craydel, and Tuteria.com. Enza Capital is based out of Nairobi Kenya, has made 33 investments into 23 portfolio companies through its Fund I, has completed first close of a Fund II, and is managing +$50m across its investment vehicles.

Prior to launching Enza Mike Mompi was an Investor at the Global Innovation Fund in London where he focused on high-impact commercial investments in sub-Saharan Africa while also working as the Investment Advisor to the SPRING accelerator in East Africa.

Prior to that Mike Mompi spent 5+ years building the early-stage investment business at ClearlySo, Europe’s leading Impact Investment Bank, as the Director of Impact Investment. He worked with management teams, private investors, and institutional investors to structure and secure values-aligned investment for businesses that have a positive impact on society and the environment. Within this, Mike was also responsible for ClearlySo’s network of HNW impact investors, which includes the Clearly Social Angels, the UK’s largest and most active network of individuals and families investing in businesses with an impact. Mike Mompi led the transactions awarded the UKBAA Social Impact Investment Deal of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2016 Mike Mompi was selected as one of Brummell’s ’30 Ones to Watch: Rising stars of the City’.

Mike Mompi currently acts as a Trustee at the Treebeard Trust, a social investor that supports transformational initiatives creating a fairer society. He holds degrees in Economics and Communications from the University of California, Davis.
