Biography

Michael Waller is the MD of Sofala Capital, a housing finance investment company, where he has driven the formation and development of both Zambian Home Loans (“ZHL”) and IBUILD Home Loans (“IBUILD”). ZHL provides affordable mortgage finance and building advice to Zambians who are in the process of building their own homes. IBUILD provides micro-mortgages to low income, South Africans to build rental rooms onto their houses. Prior to founding Sofala Capital, Michael was a Director of Standard Bank Plc where he headed the origination and structuring for the African Markets business. Michael is a Chartered Accountant and CFA Charter holder.
