Biography

Michael Kowalski is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at ID, a Frankfurt-based specialized management consulting firm with 50+ experts on its payroll supporting bank and microfinance institutions and their investors in turnaround, performance enhancement and capacity building.

Michael Kowalski has more than 20 years of experience in MSME banking, lending operations and credit risk management and has held senior management, CEO and Deputy CEO positions in MSME-oriented banks. Michael Kowalski is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Musoni Microfinance Limited, Kenya where ID provides management services and holds an equity stake.

Prior to this, Michael Kowalski spent 13 years with ProCredit Group, with six years as Head of Group Credit Risk. He holds an MBA (International Banking) and an MA in International Trade and Investment Policy from the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
