Margaret O’Connor chairs Launch Africa Ventures, the preeminent seed stage VC fund in African tech. The listed company governance and risk management experience she’s gained as a NED for Chrysalis Investments Ltd (LON:CHRY), a pre-IPO investment trust backing disruptive innovation in the UK and Europe and as a MasterCard International executive in Singapore and New York informs her approach to derisking investments in the African innovation ecosystem.

A former Silicon Valley VC funded entrepreneur, Margaret OConnor and her global team started, scaled and sold the pioneering B2B Adtech venture in a trade sale. A former partner in the Centre for Disruptive Technology, she supported the development of digital transformation in leading African banks and their investment in and collaboration with fintechs. The London-based American and Irish citizen lived and worked across Africa for 18 years.
