Biography

Adekunle Adesuyi is the President, Beyond Markets and the Group Chief Financial Officer at AFEX. He is responsible for ensuring that the business unit within the AFEX Group that caters to shared services, which is consolidation of business operations are used within the AFEX organizational structure. He is also charged with the responsibility of centralizing back-office operations that are used by multiple teams within the organization and eliminate redundancies. He leads a team of experts in Corporate Services, Strategy and Corporate Finance, Technology and Innovation, Audit and Assurance Services. As the Group Chief Financial Officer, he ensures the seamless management of treasury and cash flow for the business and driving sustainable value creation through intelligent and dynamic cash flow management, including but not limited to capital raising, fund management, investment decisions, budgeting, and payments amongst other key roles. He is an articulate professional with extensive experience in Financial Control, Treasury and Investment Management, and Business Development. He thrives in a team environment, collaborating across lines of business through a variety of risk analysis methodologies, investment assessments, and wealth creation initiatives with extensive experience that strategically places him in a position to deliver on laid down goals and objectives. Prior to joining AFEX, he practiced as a qualified chartered accountant for ten (10) years with a first degree in Accounting from Covenant University. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan to obtain a master’s degree in Information Science. He is also a member of the Association of Finance Professionals (AFP), headquartered outside of Washington, D.C, USA. He obtained certification as a Certified Treasury Professional from AFP in Dubai, UAE in 2015.
