Biography
Juliet Munro is a development professional with over 20 years’ experience in Africa, primarily in financial sector development. She is currently Director, Digital Economy at FSD Africa, responsible for building and overseeing a portfolio of impactful programmes at the nexus of finance, technology and climate. In this role, she is particularly interested in the role that technology and finance can play in improving household resilience and livelihood opportunities and in strengthening economic value chains and enabling green-economic transformation more broadly. Before taking up this role in 2021, Juliet held other positions at FSD Africa since 2013, overseeing initiatives that cut across various financial sector sectors and themes.
Prior to joining FSD Africa, Juliet Munro’s other roles included overseeing FinMark Trust’s work in Zambia and managing the Zambia office of a regional private sector development consulting firm. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cheltenham and Gloucester, U.K. and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Liverpool, U.K. She is married with two children and is based in Zambia, where she has lived for the past 26 years.
