Biography

“Dr. Brook Taye is the Director General of the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority, the entity that is mandated to regulate the securities market in Ethiopia. Prior to his appointment as the Director General, Brook Served as the Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Finance of Ethiopia. He worked on the Ministry’s ambitious economic transformation strategy including the privatization and liberalization activities of the Government, liability management and optimization of sovereign debt issues, and sectoral and state-owned enterprise reform undertakings.

Before joining the Ministry of Finance, Brook worked as an Investment Fund Manager for a private equity firm in Florida and as an Economist and Regulatory Analyst for a banking law firm in New York. Brook has a Ph.D. from Universite Paris-Saclay, his Ph.D. research focused on high-growth entrepreneurial firms in Ethiopia. He also has a master’s in Law and Economics from the University of Bologna, University of Ghent, and University of Aix-en-Provence and a Law degree from the School of Oriental Studies.”
