Biography

Guy Essome is a seasoned investment banker with over 25 years of experience in emerging markets. As an independent corporate finance advisor, he specialises in helping African companies, banks, and governments raise capital from international investors. Twenty years ago, Guy played a pivotal role in pioneering the first Africa-focused financing vehicle designed to mobilise institutional capital for deployment across the continent, resulting in over $600 million in transactions between 2005 and 2010. Today, Guy is focused on replicating this success through the development of an innovative digital distribution platform aimed at connecting African diaspora communities with investment opportunities in their home countries as co-investors along institutional investors.

Guy currently manages the $1.5bn structured note program for a secondary financing vehicle he helped set up for a client in 2012 with a view to leveraging that resource for his diaspora capital project.
