Biography
Franziska Hollmann has been working for DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (member of KfW) for 22 years and has profound experience in sustainable financing of companies in manufacturing, agribusiness and service in developing and emerging countries.
As Director Sustainable Industries Africa and EMECA Franziska Hollmann is committed to support private companies in this region to grow in an economically as well as environmentally and socially sustainable way. Franziska Hollmann is responsible for new business development, structuring and managing DEG’s more than 500 mln EUR corporate loan portfolio in Africa and EMECA. She is heading an international team located at DEG’s headquarter in Cologne and in the DEG-offices on both continents. Focus industries are manufacturing, agribusiness and services including FMCG, logistics, tourism and health care. Main area of interest lay in energy and resource efficiency solutions for DEG’s clients in these industries.
From July 2015 to February 2018, Franziska Hollmann developed DEG’s Corporate loan financing department for Africa and Latin America with a total portfolio of 700 mln EUR. From 2011 until June 2015, as Director Agribusiness, she headed a team of specialized Investment managers analysing and contracting project and corporate financing for all sectors of the agricultural value chain worldwide including bioenergy. During the financial crisis in Argentina (2000 – 2005) Franziska Hollmann has been successfully managing a portfolio of 25 corporate clients in the Mercosur region with a total financing of 200 m. EUR. Before joining DEG she started her professional career in 1996 at Deutsche Ausgleichsbank managing financing programs for business start-ups in Chile, Vietnam and Albania. Franziska Hollmann studied economics, politics, history and Spanish (Diploma in regional sciences Latin America) at Cologne University and University of Merida, Venezuela.
