Biography

Erik is responsible for Norfund’s investments in financial institutions across Sub-Sahara Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America. He is a board member of the bank investment firm Arise and the Nordic Microfinance Initiative (NMI), and has board experience from several banks and microfinance institutions across these regions. He is a member of the Norfund executive management team as well as Norfund’s investment committee. Prior to Norfund, Erik worked ten years in venture capital in the Nordic region focusing on early stage technology investments. He has also held several management roles in high tech companies including the CEO role of an IT-company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Earlier in his career, Erik worked five years in the Boston Consulting Group in London and Oslo. He has a master degree in computer science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and an MBA from Stanford University.
