Biography
Estelle BRACK is an economist, expert in banking and financial services, especially in Africa. She is currently working for Natixis Payments, the largest French bank Groupe BPCE’s entity dedicated to payments.
From 2006 to 2013 she was Deputy Director for European and International Affairs at the French Banking Federation, as Senior Adviser for International Affairs and Senior Economist. She held the Chair of the Statistics Working Group of the European Banking Federation from 2009 to 2013 and was as well a Member of the International Affairs and the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committees.
In 2000 she joined the Head Office of Banque Populaire Group in Paris as project manager in charge of implementing and supervising the introduction of coins and banknotes in euro (as well as the taking out of circulation of the ancient French franc). After 2002, she was in charge of strategic projects and inter-banking relations for card payments and electronic
money.
She is also Senior Lecturer at the University Paris-II Pantheon-Assas and at iReMMO. She has written two books “Arab Banking and Financial Systems : Towards a Single Model ?” in March 2012 and “The Mutations of the Banking and Financial Sector in Africa” in March 2016 (in French, L’Harmattan ed), as well as many papers and articles in banking and development economics. She is a regular contributor for African Banker and African Business.
She is member of the OECD-MENA Women’s Business Forum. She earned a PhD in economics (with honors) from Paris-II Pantheon-Assas University in 1997.
