Biography

Grand Point is positioned as consultancy firm assisting select clients and project partners with their business development and expansion plans into emerging markets, focussing on high impact alternative investment sectors geared for growth. Expertise of the founding team offer decades of experience in deal origination, asset management, private equity and real estate. We engage with a strong alliance of local and global advisers in each country where we operate, bridging cultural barriers, supporting clients and key stakeholders on technical and strategy considerations, ensuring successful implementation of high stakes transactions.
Clinton is an experienced investment specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the investment management, private equity, real estate and asset management industry in Africa’s emerging markets. Clinton Minnaar joined STANLIB Asset Management, part of the Standard Bank group in 2007 and fulfilled key roles for the investment team in managing money for the group. From the early stage of his career at STANLIB, he aspired to entering the property industry and in 2013, Clinton Minnaar joined the advisory team for the STANLIB Africa Direct Property Development Fund. Initially assisting with the setup of this private equity fund, he analysed development projects across the sub-Saharan Africa region and lead developments in West Africa. Later, Clinton Minnaar joined Grit Real Estate Income Group on the London Stock Exchange as a senior investment manager covering the east Africa region.
Clinton Minnaar has a deep passion for Africa and making positive change for the people on the continent. Clinton has a postgraduate degree in investment management from the University of Johannesburg and has 16 years’ professional experience in investment management and financial services.
