Biography

Laura Knierim, investment manager in KfW’s financial sector department, is responsible for the implementation of programs targeting the African agricultural sector. She is KfW’s shareholder representative in several regional fund structures, specialized in microfinance and agricultural finance for Africa (for example: AATIF). Laura joined KfW four years ago. Previously, she worked for the International Organization for Migration in Quito, Ecuador and took part in a postgraduate program at the German Development Institute, conducting research on how to make Green Finance work in Indonesia. Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy and economics from the University of Bayreuth as well as a Master’s degree in Political Economy from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
