Biography

Elena took up her current role in March 2017. Prior to that she was the head of financial and professional services in the Department for International Trade (DIT), London. In 2016-17 Elena’s team was responsible for facilitating over £3bn in exports and delivered 200 global inward investment projects into the UK. Prior to joining DIT in 2014, Elena spent 12 years working in tax (mainly business taxation) for HM Revenue & Customs, HM Treasury, and a three year stint at the South African Revenue Service in Pretoria and Johannesburg. Elena is a huge fan of cricket where her heart will always lie with the West Indies, despite their declining form.
