“Nabil Fawaz serves as Principal Business Development Officer, overseeing MIGA’s political risk insurance initiatives to facilitate foreign direct investment in the manufacturing, agribusiness, and services sectors. He also acts as MIGA’s coordinator for the IDA Private Sector Window risk sharing facility, which supports private sector investments in IDA countries.

Mr. Fawaz brings extensive expertise in underwriting investment projects within emerging markets and advising private sector clients on structuring transactions to mitigate political risks. At MIGA, he has led transactions spanning various economic sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, tourism, financial markets, and telecommunications. His guidance has enabled private sector investors to effectively manage political risks across diverse regions including Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Additionally, Mr. Fawaz has directed trust fund initiatives aimed at fostering private sector investment in conflict-affected environments, with experience in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the West Bank and Gaza.

Prior to joining MIGA, Mr. Fawaz was with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, DC, where he focused on developing financial markets in sub-Saharan Africa.”
