Maximilian is an Investment Director at BII’s Financial Services Group. He heads the group’s growth equity investments in fintechs across Africa and Asia and leads its strategy for equity investments in mission-aligned, large banks. He joined British International Investment in 2014 and has a successful track record in private equity investments in financial services companies in emerging markets. He has held various board and committee positions at private and listed companies, incl. at BII investees M-Kopa, Tyme Group and I&M Bank (former investee). Maximilian holds, amongst others, a MLitt in International Relations from the University of St Andrews and a PGDip in Philosophy from Birkbeck, University of London.
