“Jackline is the founder and CEO of Mzansi Clean Energy Capital, an emerging fund partnering with affordable housing landlords to catalyse investment in utilities infrastructure projects targeted at low-to moderate-income households in affordable housing in Africa.
Jackline has over 16 years’ industry experience in real estate development and building decarbonization policy across South Africa and the US. In the US, she consults for the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority, where she supports the clean and resilient buildings team in unlocking federal funding and driving equitable stakeholder engagement processes for the state’s housing decarbonization programs. Ms. Okeyo has also provided technical support and advisory services to the UN Task Force on Leveraging Partnerships towards the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda, chaired by the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development and Social Affairs.
Her experience in South Africa ranges from working on commercial real estate projects in the property division of a listed investment bank, to working for a privately held property fund investing in rural towns and townships. She has directed investment and managed projects with public and private stakeholders, including setting up a social housing entity which secured accreditation with the South African social housing regulatory authority.
Jackline holds an executive MPA from Columbia University in the US and a BSc(Honours) in Property studies from the University of Cape Town.
She is currently a non-executive director at International Housing Solutions, the largest private-equity fund delivering energy-efficient affordable housing in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
