Biography

Ido Sum is a Partner at TLcom Capital, Africa’s most active tech focused VC fund, investing in early to growth stage with offices in Lagos, Nairobi and London. TLcom’s current Africa portfolio includes Andela, Twiga Foods, Kobo360, uLEsson, Okra and many others.

Since joining TLcom in 2011 Ido was part of the founding team of the TIDE Africa fund, and has vast experience in working with and mentoring tech start-ups across Africa.

Prior to TLcom, Ido Sum co-founded and led Airlines WiMAX Communication, an East Africa based mobile broadband operator, after managing a consulting business focused on web start-ups and web-incubators in Israel.

Ido Sum holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
