KOKO Networks

Biography

Greg Murray is CEO and Co-Founder of KOKO Networks – a venture-backed technology company with 600 staff in Kenya and India. He and his team have designed an imaginative approach to deliver affordable clean cooking fuel at scale, tackling the scourge of indoor air pollution (caused by dirty cooking fuels) that kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. Greg has recently been featured in Forbes (see http://bit.ly/Forbes-KOKO-ethanol-cooking) and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (see http://bit.ly/BNEF-KOKO) discussing the potential to use KOKO’s IoT-enabled smart fuel network to roll out other products and services that solve the most acute pain points of daily life in Africa’s fastest-growing cities.

Prior to co-founding KOKO, Greg served as Managing Partner for CleanStar Ventures, a venture developer that has established new ventures in Africa, India and Brazil. Greg also served as Director, Middle East & Africa for a strategy consulting firm in Abu Dhabi, Operations Director for a telecoms software start-up in Sydney, and trained as an accountant and management consultant with KPMG. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.

Greg is an Australian based in Nairobi with his wife and three children.
