Biography

Mohamed Maarouf is an international expert in finance and development. He was the Managing Director of BTI Bank. He was Head of Participatory Finance at BMCE Bank of Africa, and previously Executive Director of PlaNet Finance Morocco after leading the MENA zone. He was also the first President of Development Gateway Morocco. Mr. Maarouf was for four years Development Director of Al Amana, a leader in Microfinance in MENA. Mr. Maarouf has extensive experience in finance, investment, development, communication and strategic planning. Mr Maarouf is one of the 500 people who make Islamic economics selected by Islamica 500 edition 2019 and in 2020 he is part of the top 50 of the most influential leaders of Islamic economics.
