Biography

As Co-Chief Executive, Corporate and Investment Banking, Barclays Africa Group, Temi is responsible for delivering our Pan-Africa Corporate and Investment Banking proposition for Global, Regional and Local clients across our businesses in South Africa and Rest of Africa. In addition, he is charged with developing and implementing an integrated digital strategy across CIB Africa, focusing on the build-out of digital channels that deliver a differentiated transactional banking value proposition for our clients on a Pan-African basis.

Before his current position Temi was Head of Corporate Banking, for Barclays Africa Group responsible for the design and implementation of the Corporate Banking strategy across Coverage and Product. He is a member of the Barclays Africa CIB Executive Committee and Barclays Corporate Executive Committee.

Temi has held a number of senior positions at Absa, including heading up Corporate and Institutional Coverage, Foreign Exchange and Commodity Sales and Structuring, Equity Derivative Sales and Structuring and Sales in Absa’s Financial Institutions Group.

Prior to joining Barclays, he was the Managing Director of Peregrine Financial Solutions in Johannesburg. His appointment to Peregrine followed nearly three years as Head of Structured Products at Corpcapital Bank, also in Johannesburg. In addition, Temi worked at Credit Suisse Financial Products, London, as the Vice President and Head of Credit for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and then Vice President Derivative Sales for Africa Credit Suisse.
