Trade and Development Bank (TDB)
Michael is the Chief Operating Officer at TDB as well as Executive in charge of Lending Operations, responsible for managing the Bank’s product houses including Trade Finance and Project & Infrastructure Finance. This includes product strategy and execution, business development and managing strategic multi-country client relationships. He has over 18 years of banking experience and has advised and executed over $15 billion of Capital Markets and M&A transactions
Michael, based in Kenya, joined TDB in the latter part of 2017 from Barclays where he spent 3 years establishing the Debt Finance business in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Prior to Barclays Michael was at Citigroup in Chicago, where he spent 4 years advising on corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions for Global Industrials clients. Prior to Citigroup, Michael spent 9 years with JPMorgan in Chicago as a Vice President in the Asset Based Lending and Corporate Banking divisions.
Michael is an economics graduate from Goshen College and also holds a Master of Business Administration in Economics, Finance & International Business from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
