AFSIC is believed to be the largest Africa investment event taking place annually outside Africa and has become one of the most important conduits of investment into Africa.
Kawtar Eddahmani is a Director for the Emerging Markets Sovereign Debt Team at Barings Asset Management, and member of the EM Corporate Investment Committee. Her coverage includes, among others, most African countries. Prior to joining Barings in 2014, Kawtar was at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where she specialised in International Development. Prior to Harvard University, she worked in Lazard’s Government Advisory Group advising governments, central banks and government-owned companies on sovereign debt restructurings, sovereign financing and banking sector reforms. This included several assignments in Africa. Kawtar is Moroccan and speaks Arabic, French and Spanish. She holds Master’s degrees from HEC Paris and Ecole Polytechnique in France.
