S&P Global Ratings
John Gibling is a Managing Director at S&P Global Ratings, focusing on financial services ratings and analysis. Specifically, he is a senior analyst and is Global Head of S&P’s Bank Industry Country Risk Analytics. John is based in S&P’s London office.
John joined S&P Global Ratings in 1990. Most recently, he was appointed Global Head of Bank Industry Country Risk Analytics in 2015. John has extensive experience in the banking systems of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA), having been involved in the analysis and credit ratings of the region’s banks for the past 20 years. He travels extensively across the EMEA region meeting regulators, senior bank management teams and investors. Until December 2010, he was Team Leader for financial institutions ratings in the CEEMEA region, managing a team of analysts based in London, Paris, Moscow, Johannesburg, Dubai, Frankfurt and Tel Aviv. Before specializing in the banking systems in the CEEMEA region, John was responsible for financial institutions ratings in the Nordic region. He also previously held analytical responsibilities for banks located in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Prior to his career at S&P Global Ratings John worked in the credit analysis divisions of several international banks in London, including Erste Bank, the State Bank of Western Australia and The Royal Bank of Canada.
