Biography

Joel Bryce is the Chief Investment & Strategy Officer with South Africa-based Philafrica Foods , responsible for new investments, growth, and strategy across the business. He serves on the Executive Committee of Philafrica and sits on Boards of all invested companies.

Prior to joining Philafrica Foods, Joel worked as Senior Advisor to AFGRI’s Board on it’s corporate strategy and group restructure. Previously, Joel was a Senior Manager in Deloitte Consulting based in Johannesburg and Boston. He led teams across various practices, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Strategy, Growth Strategy, and Economic Development & Competitiveness, across multiple sectors and industries but specializing in African agribusiness. He also led the World Economic Forum’s Impact Investing initiative, working with institutional investors around the world on addressing the constraints to allocating capital that achieves both financial and social impact. Joel also worked previously within the Federal Reserve System during the financial crisis of 2008.

Joel holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelor of Science in Finance & Economics from William Jewell College.
